Today is Egyptian day in my class. We have to go dressed as an ancient Egyptian. I am dressed up as Bastet the cat goddess.
I have got a black tail too but you can’t see it in the picture. That is my toy Bastet when she is in cat form that I got at the British Museum last year and I have got my golden Ankh I got at the Ashmolean years and years ago!
Mummy gets to come to school later to see our Egyptian dance and to look around our museum filled with artefacts we made. My one is a sistrum which was an ancient instrument that people shook like a rattle. It was used at ceremonies to honour Bastet.

Today I went to the Oxford Literary festival. I was feeling really ill with a bad cough but I had to go as I was going to meet Cressida Cowell and she is the lady who writes the How To Train Your Dragon books!
This is meet about to leave to go to Oxford with my two toy dragons. I did not take my huge green Mummy Dragon. She stayed at home to guard my bed!
We went to the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford. My dragons liked the park and ride bus trip. The Sheldonian is very old and has amazing painting on the ceiling. I got to see Cressida Cowell talking about her life and about writing the books. She also drew a picture while she was talking. She showed us the front cover of book 12 which is a secret and is being released in September. She read us the first bit of the new book!! I got picked to ask her a question and I asked which was her favourite dragon book.
Afterwards she signed one of my books. She also drew a picture of Toothless the dragon inside the book and put the hero mark stamp there too.
I was really tired but my special book is now in my dragon shrine with my dragons Uncle Jon and Aunty Katrin sent me.

Today there was a solar eclipse. That means that the moon was in front of the sun and because the moon is close to the earth and the sun is far away the moon blocks out the sun for a little while. We watched made a model of how the eclipse works at school and we ate biscuits to model how the eclipse worked which was yummy!
We were not allowed to look at the eclipse outside as it would hurt our eyes but we watched it happen on the TV in our classroom.
I was a bit jealous because today is Daddy Robin’s birthday and I would love to have an eclipse on my birthday too!

After we went to see Avebury stone circle we went to see Silbury Hill and West Kennet Longbarrow.
Silbury hill is a huge hill that was made by stoneage people. No one really knows why it was made be people think someone used to stand on top to talk to the other people. The top of the hill is flat and there is a moat all around it too.
This is a picture of Silbury Hill in the background. We had started our walk to the long barrow in this picture.
This is my dowsing stick. You usually use a dowsing stick to find water but I am using mine to find the long barrow!
West Kennet Longbarrow is really big. There are no skeletons inside there now but archaeologist did find lots there during an excavation. Mummy got very excited because we could go inside it. It was very dark but amazing. There were huge flat rocks to make the roof and then it was covered with chalk. There are ditches down each side where the chalk was dug from.
This is the front with the huge stones guarding the entrance.
We walked all the way to the end of the long barrow. The people that made it moved loads of chalk!
This is inside the biggest burial chamber. It was spooky.

Today I left swimming early to go to the Mother’s Day service at church with my Brownie friends.
I got to give my mummy some flowers and the card I made at school.
At church the Brownies helped and the Deddington school children got to do our actions to the lords prayer.
Afterwards at home I planted seeds and wore pants on my head which I like doing!
