Twister

Twister is funny to play. You get all tied up and then fall over.

guitar

DSC05964I love my guitar. Today we learned to play with the chorus from Happy. I did not have a friend come to play after school today as I wanted to try catching the bus home. I sat with Ellie on the bus and we read our books.

Harris Hawk

I went to Hatton country world today with my friend Elizabeth and got to feed and hold a Harris Hawk who’s name was Harry.

DSC05946

I played giant snakes and ladders with Mummy.

DSC05951

Combine harvester swing. It is called a Kidbine Harvester!

DSC05939

I got to drive a cute little tractor.

Bowling

I had a lovely day 10 pin bowling with my friend Daniel who is now 8! After bowling I went to his house and we played games, he played his cornet for me and he made me laugh dressed up as a Darlek

A visit to Birmingham

I went on the bus with Mummy and Grandad Dennis to Birmingham to visit Nanny Barnes in hospital.

Mummy showed me around Birmingham University which is next to the hospital.

On the bus Mummy said I looked like a regular commuter.

DSC05914

On the bus Grandad Dennis made a steering wheel out of an old newspaper and pretended to drive the bus, he is bonkers.

DSC05916

It was very funny because on the way home we got on exactly the same bus and his steering wheel was still there!

DSC05934

Mummy showed me the Biosciences building where she studies and the bike rack where she locked up her bike everyday!

DSC05920 DSC05921

We found this carving with the University motto in Latin “Per ardua ad alta” which means “Through efforts to high things”

DSC05918

I got to see the old University buildings and “Old Joe” the clock tower (in the rain)

DSC05923 DSC05924

We went into the Geology museum at the University to look at fossils and the cool trilobite fossil Mummy loved when she was at the university. I also saw the leg of an Allosaurus which is much bigger than my leg.

DSC05929 DSC05927

Afterwards I went to see Nanny Barnes. I was a bit scared of the hospital wards first, especially as Nanny Barnes was asleep and snoring when we first got there. After a while I got used to it all and had a good time drawing a picture for Nanny Barnes and playing games with her. I also gave her a lambs tail I had made from daisies.

Rugrats!

I spent the morning at Rugrats soft play centre with my friend Matthew, Jonny and Corey. We also met Will and his brother there. I was very tired afterwards and had a packed lunch in the car with we drove to Grandad Dennis’s house. We are staying over night! yay. I watched the film Matilda with Mummy and Grandad Dennis and I really enjoyed it. I would like to be like Matilda.

fossil heaven

Today we had a rehearsal for the school production of Beauty and the Beast and then Mummy took me and my friend Jemima to Banbury museum to do cool fossil things.

There were lots of fossils to look at with a microscope and some sand to dig in to find fossils. I was allowed to keep a brachiopod and I got a huge sea urchin fossil from the lucky dip! We made dinosaur masks too.

For Uncle Jon and Aunty Katrin – Speedy!

Here are some pictures of Speedy.

This is him a few weeks old and still all patchy.

DSC03080

Here he is in January all snuggled up in my bed while I read him a story.

DSC05640

This is Speedy playing Gecko Chess. He is allowed to move in any direction and any number of squares like a queen does but any piece he touched he can take so he is much better than a queen!

The Oxford Natural History Museum is open again!

The museum has been shut for a year while the roof was cleaned.  We went today and had great fun. I got to make a dodo mask. I also made a secret temple in the Pitt Rivers museum (mine has a secret golden swirly flower inside rather than a buddah like the one in the museum)  MY dodo mask is much more colourful than real dodos were.

DSC05812This is the beautiful building of the natural history museum. I am running up and down the megalosaurus footprints in the grass wearing my yellow Pikachu hat.

DSC05872Sandy the turtle came with me to help me find turtles and tortoises in the museum. We founds loads and I got to see how beautiful a Hawksbill turtle shell is. I have been sponsoring the critically endangered Hawksbill turtle since my 6th birthday.

Malachite is so beautiful!

DSC05863

I love Oxford museum because there are so many things you are allowed to touch.  Here are a real fox, eagle owl and a rabbit.

cooking

This is corn flour. It is really strange stuff. It goes hard when you stir it fast and all squishy if you stir it slowly. This is it on my hand!

DSC05798

Mummy and I made cakes and I got my head into the bowl to get all the cake mixture out with my tongue.
